Action Painting

ACTION PAINTING

– a Collaborative Explosive Painting Spectacle.

“It is so important to me that fun, unstuffy and really top-class activities like this can go on here at the gallery,  thanks for making it happen.”

“Your amazing energy and fantastic paint machines helped us to celebrate our 3rd birthday in real style, creating a wonderful atmosphere which was infectious. You made hundreds of children (and adults!) very happy. Thank you too for your professionalism- it was a real pleasure to work with you.”

Catherine Nicholson –  The Turner Contemporary Margate

At its heart Action Painting uses artists, pneumatic cannons and a 12m2 canvas to create a world of flying paint where we have a conversation about what, why, how and who even art is about, responding to an exhibition or event or building up with the people we meet in our own painting utopia.

Action Painting is about the act and the art, it creates a spectacle and leaves painting in all our hearts.

Action Painting was originally commissioned in July 2012 by Sheffield Children’s Festival ;

Action Painting was launched at Kelham Island Industrial Museum and appeared at Just So Festival , Maker Faire, First Arts Nottingham, Kendal Mintfest and The Turner Contemporary. Pif-Paf have not actively promoted the show in recent years due to being too darn busy. It remains a very clear demonstration of our vision.
